History of Systemic-Functional Linguistics

• A biography of M.A.K. Halliday, (part 1, up to the 1950s).
• An early version of the "Penman" grammar (a computational SFL grammar. Original network by Halliday, put into computer form by Mark James, adapted and extended by Christian Matthiessen, The drawing was made by by Rob Spence with the help of the Geography department in the 1980s. The plot was on the wall of the Linguistics Department at the University of Sydney, and recently recovered by Michael Walsh, who scanned it in for us.
